Face-to-face interpreting is crucial to the effective operation of many industries and essential public services. This mode of interpretation is ideal for a wide range of situations, providing accurate and immediate language support and facilitating clear communication between speakers of different languages.

It is particularly suitable for handling sensitive or complex information where personal interaction is essential. Examples include solicitors discussing social care matters with parents, as well as conversations between police officers, immigration officials, and detainees.

Face-to-face interpreting provides valuable contextual understanding, as interpreters are able to observe body language, facial expressions, and other non-verbal cues, which enhances the accuracy and clarity of the interpreted message.

The most traditional form of onsite interpreting is simultaneous interpreting, where the interpreter listens to the speaker and translates their speech in real time. This requires high levels of concentration and linguistic skill to ensure accurate interpretation without omission or distortion of meaning.

Language Interpreters Ltd also provides onsite interpreters and translators for Legal Aid work, in accordance with the standards and rates set by the Legal Aid Agency. We also supply registered interpreters listed on the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI) who are qualified to deliver both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, and are approved for court and tribunal use at market rates.

Our interpreters and translators hold professional qualifications from accredited institutions, including the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) and the Diploma in Police Interpreting (DPI). All linguists are fluent in their native and additional languages and undergo DBS/CRB clearance to ensure professionalism, reliability, and security.
